Colchester and Tendring athletes were in good form in their first Track and Field event of the season. 16 year old Sam Redgrave powered to a convincing win in Senior/Junior 800m race to cross the line in 2m:15.2s to take her to the top of the Eastern Ranking List. Ellie Cumner in her first race over this distance showed up well to come 3rd in 2m:28s with Stacey Eyers a fine 4th in 2m:30s.
Michael Porter was another athlete in inspired form finishing an excellent 2nd in his U17 800m in 2m:0.1s. Joe Alexander continued to improve with a PB in the U17 1500m in 4m:36.4s with his father Roger showing up well in the same race with 5m:15s (PB). Hannah Lawrence in the High Jump produced a fine leap to win her U15 age group with a jump of 1.45m. She was also 1st in the 100m in 13.72s (PB) and a Long Jump of 4.49m.
Helen Bloomfield ran a good race in the Seniors 400m coming 2nd in 60.95s. Hannah Banks ran a PB in the U15 800m in 2m:35.66s. Sian Hicks also did well in the same race at 2m:43.28s. Lisa Crowhurst ran her 100m in 13.70s and her 200m in 28.19s.

Other CAT's in action: at the Watford Open the Gibbon brothers were in fine form, with David running 800m in 1m:58.4s and Joe running an excellent 2m.4.4s. In the Sudbury 5K, Becky Adams was a superb 4th lady home in 33m:47s .
